Acronym [ak-ruh-nim] noun: a word formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of other words in a set phrase or series of words and pronounced as a separate word. Dictionary.com

In a medical work environment, acronyms are thrown around in what seems like every other sentence. These acronyms can be hard to follow if you don’t know what they mean, or even if you do.
