RxNT|EPCS is a certified solution which enables prescribers to send controlled substances electronically, directly from the point of patient care. Electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) was legalized at the national level in 2010 by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and since then all 50 states have followed suit. With RxNT|EPCS, prescribers can undertake DEA required identity proofing and select a token needed to fulfill the DEA’s two-step authentication requirement for EPCS.

Frequently Asked Questions about RxNT|EPCS
Q: Can I e-Prescribe controlled substances from my mobile device?
Yes. If you can access the internet, you can access RxNT|EPCS. RxNT even has an iOS app and has recently introduced the first EPCS-certified Android app to the market.
Q: How does the ID proofing process work with RxNT|EPCS?
RxNT|EPCS includes a link to our ID proofing partner, Experian. Click on the link to answer a series of questions meant to confirm your identity. After ID proofing is complete, you are issued a password (something you know) and a token (something you have) to meet the two-factor authentication required by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to prescribe controlled substances. RxNT provides prescribers two options for the token through our partner, Safenet: a physical device or a downloadable application.
Q: I have activated my token but there is a warning message showing. How do I get rid of this?
A: Ensure that you have contacted an RxNT Team Member to activate your token. The account must update overnight before you can begin to utilize your token.
Q: I have sent in my paperwork requesting my token. Why do I not have it yet?
A: Before RxNT can send you your token, you need to complete the Identity Proofing Test. This is located within your RxNT Account and steps were sent to you in your “RxNT Getting Started” email.
Steps to access ID Proofing Test:
- Go to the “Utilities” tab
- Select “Activate EPCS”
Once you successfully authenticate your identity, RxNT will be notified to begin processing your token.
