All too often, physicians respond with disbelief when told for the first time that controlled medications (yes, even C-IIs) can be sent electronically. The response is often, “I can’t send controlled medications electronically in (enter your home state here).” Or, “Do you really mean that I can send controlled medications electronically?”

And the answer is simple. Yes, if you hold an active DEA license and utilize certified ePrescribing technology, like RXNT, then you can send controlled medications electronically in YOUR state.

Electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) is changing the way physicians across the country are transmitting prescriptions. In March of 2010, the DEA ruled that physicians will “have the option of writing prescriptions for controlled substances electronically” effective June 1, 2010. And in August of 2015, Vermont became the “final state in the nation” to legalize EPCS.

This means that physicians no longer have to rely on antiquated workflows to get prescriptions to the pharmacy. RXNT provides cutting edge technology to our customers, ensuring they are never behind on the times. With RXNT’s DEA-certified EPCS technology, physicians and practices across the country are realizing the benefits:

  • Send Prescriptions from Virtually Anywhere with Mobile Apps
  • Eliminate Unnecessary Phone Calls and Faxes to Pharmacies
  • Secure Transfers of Prescriptions to Pharmacies
  • Reduce Chance of Error Due to Illegible Handwriting or Miscommunication
  • Recognize Possible Doctor Shopping or Prescription Abuse Patterns
  • Improve Patient Safety with Real-Time Interaction Checks
